One Foot in Front of the Other

My Dear Fearless Friends,

I hope you’re getting ready to wrap up this month on a powerful note. I found our last coffee chat deeply inspiring, and was left with takeaways such as Life is in the little details just as much as in the big vision. (You can watch the Fearless Club Coffee Chat recording in the Members’ Area.) Thank you to each one of you who joined live and continue to inspire me and us all.

After a very rewarding but full-on month, and looking ahead at all that we have planned for April, this past weekend I found myself fearfully asking: “How will I get it all done?” 

Inspired by our conversation, this is the answer that came to me…

One Foot in Front of the Other

“How will I get it all done?”, she asked.

“In one moment, and then another,” he smiled.

“There’s nothing more you can do now

Than to do now.

So do now, and do it well.”

“How do I know that I won’t fall?”, she faltered.

“Your steps will fall, one at a time,

And land you safely on firm ground.

Listen to each step before you set it down

And your foot will know where to touch the ground.”

“How will I know where to go?”, she worried.

“You can only go the distance

One mile at a time.

Walk that first mile knowing

That your heart will find you the next.”

“How will I do it all?”, she cried.

“You won’t.” as he held her.

“Others will come along

And take away what was never yours to carry.

You’ll walk, one step after another

And they’ll walk beside you, one foot and then another.”
